Maruti Suzuki, an Indian subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, announced on October 11, that it has begun exporting the Suzuki JIMNY 5-door compact SUV.

◆Shipments to Latin America and the Middle East and Africa

The Jimny 5 door was first unveiled at Auto Expo 2023 (Delhi Motor Show 2023) in India in January 2023. The Jimny 5-door is currently produced only in India. The base price in India is 1274000 rupees (about 2.3 million yen).

The Indian government is encouraging exports of Indian goods under its "Make in India, for the world" policy. In line with this, Maruti Suzuki has strengthened its exports from India. In November 2020, production of the 3-door Jimny began for export only to Latin America and Africa. In June 2023, it launched the Jimny 5 door for the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki currently exports a total of 17 models in a wide range of segments from India, and Maruti Suzuki has won the top spot in passenger car exports for the second year in a row.

Maruti Suzuki began exporting the latest model, the Jimny 5-door. Shipments will be made to Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. Japan is not included.

◆It's 3985 mm long, 435 mm longer than Jimny's Sierra.
